A traditional Polish bride used to be a three or yet four evening matter. Usually, it was held outside in gardens, forests and barns. They were a celebration of life and the reward of nature. Now, however, many couples choose to omit the chapel and simply have a ceremony in their house or backyard with close family and friends. They still enjoy the tremendous food, music and liquor but it’s not quite what it once was.

On the night of the bride, just before midnight ( or around it if a one- time marriage), comes the popular meeting known as “oczepiny”, the unveiling of the bride. At this point hot polish men, the mask is removed and she dons her czepek – a cover worn by Polish priestesses to depict their standing as hitched ladies. This is also when the lengthy tresses are unbraided and cut brief, as a symbol of her shift from girlhood to womanhood.

As the couple leave the church, guests wash them with pennies and granules, to offer them luck and prosperity. They next change into their bash clothing. It is also standard to put modest, square coins into the woman’s mane– whoever collects the most will get in charge of their finances.
